What is a “No-Show”?

A "No-Show" is a customer who makes a reservation but does not turn up to fulfil the booking. If a customer does not turn up to their booking without notifying the restaurant or within a reasonable time frame (i.e. 15 minutes), you can update their booking in your Eveve system and make the table(s) available for other customers. Unlike cancellations, a no-show is when the guest does not let the restaurant know in advance that they are not able to make their booking.

Why should I mark a “No-Show”?

  • To make table(s) available for other customers
  • So you don’t get charged/invoiced for the customer booking (we have no way of knowing who doesn't turn up unless you tell us)
  • To keep track of the customer details/reliability

How do I mark a “No-Show” and update a booking?

There are three ways to update the Status of a booking:

In any view/screen:

  1. Open up the booking you wish to remove
  2. Select 'No-Show' from the Status dropdown
The system will prompt you to confirm the update. Click OK and the booking will be removed.

TIP: If desired, you could add a new Customer Note so that staff are aware of customer history

In Grid view

  1. Right click on the booking you want to update
  2. Hover over 'Set Status'
  3. A list of status will appear. Select 'No-Show'
The system will prompt you to confirm the update. Click OK and the booking will be removed.

In Plan view

  1. After service, customers who were not seated would still have their booking on the left hand side of the screen
  2. Click the 'No-Show' button
  3. The mouse curser will turn into a + symbol. You can now click on the booking you wish to update and the same prompt will appear as describe above
